Day 1: On arrival Addis Ababa GLT representative will meet you at Bole international Airport and transfer to the hotels after short break, you will visit the diplomatic capital of Africa, headquarters of the Africa union starting from Holy Trinity Cathedral(The church is constructed in 1955 for the 25 years anniversary of Emperor Haileselassie and painted richly with remarkable biblical and other saint’s story), National museum (home of Lucy hominid skeleton dating back to 3.2 million years) .In the afternoon after lunch you will visit Ethnological museum, which was the former palace of Haile Selassie then proceed to Mountain Entoto for panoramic view of Addis Ababa. Day 2: Early in the morning drive to the Eastern part of Ethiopia, we pass through Nazaret, Awash park is one of the most important in Ethiopia. The Awash River passes through a spectacular gorge. The park is home to 392 species of birds and many mammals are living there, including the Oryx, Gazelles and Antelopes. Warthogs are common sightings on this drive. Awash is the longest river in Ethiopia, one that has long been exploited for centuries and empties into Lake Abbe on the border with Djibouti. The day is dedicated to visit the park and its surroundings. Overnight hotel
Day 3: Before heading to Assaïta a city in the region of Afar we will visit the hot springs on the way. In striking contrast to the dry climate that affects the rest of the area, the hot springs of Filwoha meaning “Hot Water” in Amharic appear like a heavenly oasis. Day 4: Continue to Lake Asal and Lake Afdera, which is the salt lake from which the pastoral Afar extract salts, an important deposit, some of which reach 2km thick. These few salty lakes led to the creation of one of the most hostil environments on the planet. Dinner & Overnight camping (Afdera)
Day 5: Amoderate hike after dark to reach the summit crater and observe the eruption in progress which boasts one of the world continuously active lava lakes, Located the heart of the great African Rift Valley, the Erta Ale Volcano is an exceptional site despite difficulty to access it. Indeed, it lies in the middle of an inhospitable desert: the Danakil, amid a surreal landscape of fissures, faults, and a boiling lake of lava. The Danakil Depression is hostile desert and named the cruelest place on earth. The peak of the volcano is occupied by a large oval caldera 1.8KM length, filled with many recent basaltic flows. Day 6: Departure to the Dallol volcano to visit the colorful and crystallized spot, the ghost village abandoned in the 1940’s, when the potash mine exploitation came to an end. In the afternoon, we would explore numerous and staggering canons which cut the western extreme of Dallol. Overnight Camping-Ahmedila
Day 7: Dallol is found in the Danakil Depression close to the Eritrean border. Situated 100KM undersea level in the middle of desert of salt, it is one of the hottest regions on Earth. The temperature, more than 50⁰C, under tree shade. This important volcanic zone is characterized by emissions of fume roles. This hot water moves up toward the surface and through the evaporate deposits, dissolving salt, potash and other soluble minerals. As a least visited place, the site is still intact. Day 7: In the afternoon take flight to Asmera via Addis Ababa and up on arrival Asmara GLT representative will meet you at Asmara international Airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 8: Morning after breakfast, you will visit the most prominent landmarks in the city, One of the greatest monuments of the city is the Catholic Cathedral of Santa Maria, in pure Lombard Romanesque style with interior completely frescoed. As well as the National Museum with archaeological finds of ancient civilizations installed in Eritrea and a rich collection of objects, arts, typical clothing of the nine ethnic groups of the country: an anthropological global look of Eritrea, the Enda Mariam Coptic Cathedral (project of arch. E. Gallo, 1920) built over the ancient one, worth a visit too. Then if time allows proceed to Medeber an open workshop where absolutely every available item is used and recycled in a most ingenious way. Small mills are grinding various spices into berbere, where you will see the best synthesis about liveliness and colour of ethnic Eritrean groups. Overnight hotel
Day 9: Excursion on board the legendary train, pulled by locomotives “Mallet” (subject to availability), in the afternoon drive to the lively city of Keren (1,392 Mt. high), crossroad between the highland and the lowland and well-known for its silver filigree works, visit the silver market and the very nice town. Lunch box (or in Asmara); dinner & ON hotel
Day 10 & 11: Departure to Massawa and start a cruise boarding a fast boat, for next three days. You will settle a home camp in one of the island, and will visit one or two more island every day Lot of time free at leisure at the beach, snorkelling, fishing. Overnight stay in mobile tented camp, full board including 4 pcs local drinks per pax per day
Dar 12: After swimming and visiting the island, return to Massawa in the afternoon and after a short visit of Massawa proceed to Asmara. Overnight hotel
Day 13: Excursion to Dekamerè and Segheneyti (Sycamores Valley), where we could appreciate the extraordinary dimensions of secular sycamores that lop up in the valley, we will come up till Adi Keyh and Kohaito, where we’ll admire the ruins of the ancient Axumite cities of Coloe and the prehistoric graffiti of Cutublè Galbà Senafè (city remains axumita of Metara). Return to Asmara in the late afternoon. Overnight hotel
Day 14: Transfer to the airport flight back to Addis and Connect your international flight to back home
