01. Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport at 12:55 h. There issue your visa, get your luggage and go through customs. Our drivers will wait for you and transfer you to Tarangire National Park. Driving time 3,5 hours.
02. Morning and afternoon game drive with hot lunch in between in the lodge. Watch the animals along the Tarangire River in their natural environment.
Tarangire National Park is one of 11 national parks in Tanzania. It is located south-west of Arusha in the Lake Manyara region. The Tarangire River flows through the park even in the dry season and is the only water source for the wildlife. Therefore, the wildlife in the park is very rich dring dry sesaon. The landscape consists of savannah and the river. The park is 2600 square kms and is located on 900m altitude.
Furthermore the park is well known for its uncountable baobab trees, the large number of elephants and various species of birds.
03. After breakfast leave from the lodge to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge for hot lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive through Lake Manyara National Park. In the evening return to the lodge.
Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.
From the entrance gate, the road winds through an expanse of lush jungle-like groundwater forest where hundred-strong baboon troops lounge nonchalantly along the roadside, blue monkeys scamper nimbly between the ancient mahogany trees, dainty bushbuck tread warily through the shadows, and outsized forest hornbills honk cacophonously in the high canopy.
Contrasting with the intimacy of the forest is the grassy floodplain and its expansive views eastward, across the alkaline lake, to the jagged blue volcanic peaks that rise from the endless Maasai Steppes. Large buffalo, wildebeest and zebra herds congregate on these grassy plains, as do giraffes – some so dark in coloration that they appear to be black from a distance.
Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large waterbirds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks.
04. After breakfast leave from Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge and proceed to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Arrival in time for hot lunch. Afternoon for leisure at the lodge.
05. Today you will do an unforgettable Ngorongoro Crater Tour. At the beginning you will descend into the crater – 600m from the rim to the floor. When you reach the bottom, start your game drive and discover this breathtaking landscape. Wildebeests, zebras and lions will cross your way. Enjoy your picnic lunch next to the hippo pool. After the game drive ascend the steep crater wall with the safari car and proceed to your accommodation on the crater rim.
The Ngorongoro conservation area is located between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara. Within the protected area is the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the largest caldera in the world. The crater is 600m deep and 260 square km in size and offers the diversity of East African scenery and wildlife in a confined space. Enjoy the breathtaking views at sunset from one of the lodges on the crater rim.
06 & 07. After breakfast leave to Serengeti. Game en route to the lodge. Discover the animals and landscape of Serengeti.
On the second day enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park.
Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.
The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.
08. After breakfast fly back to Arusha. Extend your tour to wonderful beached of Zanzibar or fly back home

While you are there you can organize yourself trips to different interesting places on the island, including the visit of stone town, Jozani forest and much more. Staying in hotel on HB (half board basis; which means you have your breakfast and dinners included; while lunches are free).
