EAST ETHIOPIA- DJIBOUTI 9 days

Day 01 ADDIS – AWASH
Drive to Awash; on the way visit of the chat market morning at the Awedae village. Awash National Park is one of eastern Ethiopia attraction; overnight in Awash Genet Hotel.

Day 02 AWASH – HARAR
In the morning Game drive in Awash National Park, at the park admire a very nice flora & fauna the Awash River falls + the river gorge & more. Then drive to Harar; overnight in Harar Heritage Hotel.

Day 03 AWASH – HARAR
Visit of Harar: the city walls, the mosques, the churches, French poet Rimbaud house, the Adere people traditional houses, the markets, the basket productions and more. In the evening visit a man feeding wild hyenas; overnight in Harar Heritage Hotel.

Day 04 HARAR – DIRE DAWA
Today you will make your way to the small town of Babile, which straddles the Jijiga road about 30km east of Harar, gives it name not only to a popular brand of sparkling water but also to Ethiopia’s only elephant sanctuary. Babile hosts an important camel market on a Monday so there may be an opportunity, if you so wish, to go and visit the maket before heading into the sanctuary. The vulnerable elephant population is afforded nominal protection in the sanctuary that is in the region of 7,000km2 and sits between the Gobelle River and the Fafen River. This is one of the best times of year to see elephant as they tend to congregate around the Upper Gobele Gorge. The sanctuary also provides refuge to black-maned Abyssinian lion, various antelope, the striking hamadryas baboon and a spectacular selection of dry-country birds, including the endemic Salvadori’ serin. From the sanctuary you will head to the valley of Marvels, a desolate landscape of red earth, low acacia scrub, forbidding cacti and tall chimney-like termite mounds; the Valley of Marvels is renowned for its gravity-defying rock formations. You will return to Harar in the late afternoon. Then drive to Dire Dawa; overnight in Dire Dawa Semerta Hotel.
Day 05 DIRE DAWA – TADJOURA
Drive to Lake Abe. Proceeding to Djibouti continue to Tadjoura and on the way visit to Lake Easal. Visit very nice views. Then drive to Tadjoura, previous capital. Relax at the beach. You can also optional have snorkeling, diving and boat excursion to the islands as Muche island or Sette Freres island; overnight in Tadjoura camp.

Day 06 TADJOURA
Drive to Goda Mountains visit Bankouale waterfall, village and the petrified forest; afternoon back to Tadjoura; overnight in Tadjoura camp.

Day 07 ARDOUKOBA
Drive to Ardoukoba visit volcan Ardoukoba; overnight in Tadjoura camp.

Day 08 ARDOUKOBA – DJIBOUTI
Drive to Djibouti, visit the Djibouti town (the capital); overnight in Djibouti Sheraton Hotel.

Day 09 DJIBOUTI – ADDIS
In the morning fly to Addis. You have day use room. Green Land Tours dinner invite you in a traditional restaurant with folkloristic dances. After dinner transfer to Airport for your departure.
