Al-Ain is known as the “Garden City” due to its greenery, particularly with regard to the city’s oases, parks, tree-lined avenues and decorative roundabouts. That said, the region of Al-Ain and Al-Buraimi, altogether Tawam or Al-Buraimi Oasis, is of cultural and historical importance. It was where Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the United Arab Emirates, spent much of his life, at least since 1927, before becoming the Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 1966. Al-Ain may also be the site of the oldest mosque in the country, in the premises of the Sheikh Khalifa Mosque

Visit Jebal Hafeet, one the most loved mountain range in the U.A.E, towering for more than 1,240 meters. Visit Al Jahili fort, Al Ain museum and more.

Day07. Hatta

Drive 3 hrs to reach Hatta. From taming the rough terrain on a mountain bike to tackling the teal waters by kayak, Dubai’s mountain town of Hatta is the ideal spot for adventure.

There’s possibly no better way to experience the meandering pathways of hills, wadis and farmland in Hatta than from the back of a mountain bike. Multiple trails for beginner to advanced-level riders have been set up by the Hatta Mountain Bike Trail Centre, spanning across 52kms. The trails are free to ride and are self-guided with clear markers.

Surrounded by the Hajar Mountains, Hatta is covered in undulating peaks and troughs perfect for hiking. You can trek along the winding wadis at the foothills of the mountains, near the border with Oman. Here you’ll see the varied terrain, from sandy patches to sharp rocks.

Day 08 & 09. Al Fujairah

Drive 3 hrs to reach Al Fujairah. Fujairah is an emirate on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates, lying along the Gulf of Oman. It’s known for its beaches and the Hajar Mountains, which run through much of the emirate. In the south, the city of Fujairah is home to the massive Sheikh Zayed Mosque, with its towering white minarets. Overlooking the city is Fujairah Fort, a reconstructed 17th-century fortress featuring round and square towers.

Visit Fujairah Fort, AlBidya Mosque and Jazirat Al Ghubbah.

Jazirat Al Ghubbah: Snoopy Island, also called Snoopy Rock is a small rocky island off the northern coast of the Emirate of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. The Arabic name is derived from the coastal town of Al Aqah and is thus Jazirat al-‘Aqqa.

Beach Time & Diving in Al Aqah + the Hajar Mountains

Al Aqah is the center of the UAE’s scuba diving scene. The main dive sites include two wrecks that were purposely sunk to create an artificial reef for divers and the car cemetery site (created during the 1980s when a series of cars and trucks were sunk to create an artificial reef for local fishermen). Marine life is abundant for divers, with turtles and black tip sharks regularly seen at some sites, as well as large shoals of fish ranging from trevally to parrotfish.

The Hajar Mountains slice through the inland northern region of the UAE. The scenery of jagged mountain peaks is a world away from what most people associate with the country and is prime road-trip territory. Officially different sections of the Hajar belong to Fujairah, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Sharjah emirates and even on a short drive trip between the west coast and the east, you’ll be able to take in a slither of the majestic mountain views.

Overnight in Al Fujairah

Day 10. Enter into Oman.

Drive to Jebel Harim which is the highest mountain in Musandam (2087M).  Enroute stop at ‘Sayh’ village, located at 1100 M above sea level.  From the Khawr Al Najid view the splendid coastline spread with turquoise blue waters lapping the shores.  Proceed to visit Birkhat Khalidiya Park with it’s acacia trees, which remain green throughout the year.

Overnight at Khasab Hotel or similar.
