Day 1: Entebbe The arrival of your flight at the Entebbe International Airport. Customs and immigration procedures. (A negative Covid-19 test result must be provided and another test will also be taken while on ground.) You will be warmly welcomed by our tour leader outside customs and immigration hall. Transfer to your hotel, Arrive and check-in assistance. Tour briefing will be at the lobby. Dinner will follow and overnight stay. Day 2: Entebbe Q (Kihihi) Bwindi Impenetrable Forest 06h00: Very early breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to Entebbe Airport for your schedule Aerolink flight to Bwindiimpenetrable forest and national park, departing at 07h45. 08h55:Land at Kihihi Airstrip met by the camp driver guide and transfers to Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp for check-in. Relax and enjoys your surroundings. Lunch. This afternoon, you will depart for the Batwa people village tour. You will get a glimpse of the daily life of the pygmies. During this tour, the Batwa demonstrate hunting techniques; gather honey, point out medicinal plants and demonstrate bamboo cups. The Batwa who are the original human inhabitants of uwa park a Forest Reserve, have now been moved out of the Forest and taken on the responsibility of guarding this forest. They will give you briefing and a demonstration of their lives including hunting, harvesting and way of life. This is followed by guided nature walk led by the Batwa as your local guides since they are the true experts of this environment. This forest reserve is a fantastic birding destination with an estimated record of 150 species of birds. Variety of flora and fauna and a few primates can be spotted during the nature walk. (Please wear comfortable shoes as the walk may be steep) You will return to the camp in the evening. Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest After an early breakfast and briefing from the guides, set off for the mountains gorilla tracking inside the Bwindi forest. You will need to carry drinking water, rain jacket and jungle boots while the rangers will provide you with a walking stick. Gorilla tracking is one of the unique activities you will enjoy while photographing and observing the gorillas. After tracking, come back to the camp for late lunch. The afternoon will be at leisure to rest and enjoy the amazing scenery. You will also have a relaxing massage at the spa (optional for a supplement). Dinner and overnight stay
Activities Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Wake early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla trekking. Before 8:00 am, report to the ranger station for registration and a talk by one of the rangers. The guides will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, to track the gorillas. (Please note this trek can take from 30 minutes to 5-6 hours). A reasonable degree of fitness is required, as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them ‘talk’ to one another, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the Silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It’s amazing to think there are only about 650 of these beautiful creatures left.
SANCTUARY GORILLA FOREST CAMP (FB: LUNCH, DINNER, BED & BREAKFAST, LAUNDRY, SOFT DRINKS)
Day 4: Bwindi Q Entebbe Breakfast at the camp and check out assistance. You will be transferred to kihihi airstrip for your schedule aerolink flight to entebbe, departing at 09h25. Land at 11h25, met by our representative and proceed to have lunch at a local restaurant. 14h00: visit the Entebbe zoo. The two-hour educative adventure offers a special inside look tour and interesting information about how they take care of the residents (animals and birds). You will have a close-up and personal encounter with the lions, elephants plus many more wonders you have perhaps never imagined meeting.
Activities Uganda Wildlife Education Centre
The Uganda Wildlife Education Centre is a fun and exciting place to see and learn about the animals of Uganda and the ecosystems in which they live. Take some time to learn how they live, eat, play, and talk. Originally founded in the 1950s to accommodate confiscated and injured wildlife and to look after orphan animals which have been taken away from smugglers it has grown considerably in recent years. Many say it’s destined to become the most important showcase for wildlife on the African continent.
Created by the government of Uganda with the help of the Wildlife Conservation Society in New York and managed by a Wildlife Trust, it never fails to delight. At UWEC you will come across free ranging Vervet monkeys and a family troop of DeBraza monkeys in the jungle of our hillside forest. Over 120 bird species can be watched ranging from the famous African fish eagle, over the Great Blue Turaco to Hammerkops, Giant Kingfisher and even the smallest sun birds.
UWEC is not a zoo in a conventional sense and neither is it a Safari Park but it is a center where wildlife education is combined with leisure. Our main aim is to model the main ecosystem of this country in open range exhibits. Not only can you observe many of our most exciting indigenous species here, but comprehensive interactive interpretation and briefings on them are also given.
You will also go for a covid test to enable you safely depart. Later, proceed to your hotel for the night. (Dinner is included). Hotel no. 5 ( hb: dinner, bed & breakfast)
Day 5: Entebbe End of Itinerary Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to the Entebbe International airport. Bid farewell to your guide and proceed to check in for your outbound flight.
